Hey for 2019 can we as a community realize that threats and/or acts of violence against bigots does at the very least nothing and at worse drives bigots to be even more violent and bigoted in return?
Violence is only acceptable when it is to actively defend someone (yourself or others) from being attacked. Doing or saying otherwise makes you no different from the bigots you claim to fight. No joke.
Because if we want to live in a peaceful and more accepting world…that starts with us. Otherwise it will never happen.
People would rather feel righteous in hate than right in peace.
Ok just cause I’m still salty and this needs to be said: just because your story is a bit predictable doesn’t mean it’s bad. sometimes that just means that your story makes sense. if nothing in your story is predictable then you have crossed the line from “keeping viewers on their toes” to “nonsensical nightmare that doesn’t deliver on any front”
Lately a lot of stories that try to hard to be “subversive” and “unpredictable” have turned out shitty because they were more focused on not using certain tropes than telling a good story.

I expected the She-Ra reboot to have a toxic fanbase. That comes with the territory, at this point.
However, I didn’t expect the show to have a toxic staff as well, especially one which enables rabid anti-shippers to harass the staff of the Voltron reboot.
I did; but that’s because I was already familiar with the “showrunner” from when she was on Tumblr.
I would have hoped the rest were better and that she’d be kept reined in.
What, what’s happening?
(Also not surprised since 90% of the staff seems to have come from Tumblr)
Long story short; a few staff members of She-Ra didn’t like that even though a character was revealed to be LGBT, they’re not an explicit stereotype, and they claimed the writers pulled a “bury your gays!” move when the boyfriend of the LGBT character died IN A SCENE WHERE SEVERAL STRAIGHT CHARACTERS DIED AS WELL. They also didn’t like the fact that they weren’t making their favorite gay ships canon.
So, they went on ranting on Twitter, acting like dicks to the Voltron staff, calling them “homophobes”, and even enabled rabid shippers to harass the Voltron staff.
And to think I was willing to give the redesigns for this show a begrudging pass.
I’m bringing this back for the afternoon crowd, because not a lot of people saw or reblogged my more detailed explanation. Hope you don’t mind.

It’s worse than that. There’s a YouTube video that explains how the people behind the She-Ra reboot insulted the old version and the people who made it, totally ignoring the actual history, struggles, and goals of the woman in charge of the original She-Ra.
Why is it that everytime I hear something about the staff of this show it is worse???
Because shitty people are like moldy onions, they have layers of rot.
